Our country is small in territory with only 51,100 km2, some special characteristics make this piece of land a birding paradise, having 900 species of birds reported in the country, making it the country with the biggest density of birds of continental America. Of this great amount of species about 600 are residents, most of the rest are North American migrants and very few coming from South America. This makes it a highly wanted destination for birders and nature lover around the world.
I have been a forest enthusiast since very early age, as I was wondering around the family farm in Arenal area. My nature and birdwatching passion became stronger as the years pass, and took me to study Ecoturism. On this time I had the chance to see many destinations around the country, and have to recognize that the fact that one of my professors is an ornithologist increase my birdwatching passion, so since I was in Costa Rica University around the year 2004 have been birding in different destinations of Costa Rica.
